OSTEOPATHY:
WHEN TO CONSIDER IT?
MUSCULOSKELETAL
The osteopathic treatment is especially effective for acute conditions like cervical pain (stiff neck) and lower back pain (lumbago). It is also highly recommended for chronic issues, with the aim of improving daily quality of life.
TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)
Osteopathy can be an effective support for managing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. An osteopathic treatment can be planned in preparation for dental procedures to help relax the involved muscles, or in the post-operative phase, if muscle tension arises from prolonged mouth opening. Additionally, in the presence of bruxism (teeth grinding), the osteopath can work alongside the dentist to promote muscle relaxation in the mandibular area, thereby contributing to the patient's well-being.
DIGESTIVE
Osteopathic treatment for the digestive system focuses on enhancing the quality of life for individuals experiencing issues like abdominal bloating or disruptions in intestinal motility.
MY BACKGROUND
My name is Paolo Ferraresi. After earning my degree in Radiology Techniques from the University of Turin, I pursued a six-year program in Osteopathy at the University of Brussels (ULB). This extensive training has enabled me to develop a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care, addressing both acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems, as well as conditions related to stress, fatigue (such as migraines and headaches), and digestive issues, offering patients a well-rounded treatment.

MY APPROACH
My academic background has equipped me with the skills to offer patients an evidence-based (EBM) osteopathic treatment approach. The combination of my degree in Radiology Techniques and the courses completed alongside the Faculty of Medicine has allowed me to enhance my practice with a medical perspective, ensuring a solid, scientifically supported methodology. Furthermore, my background has enabled me to work in a hospital environment, both as a radiology technician and as an osteopath, fostering an integration of the two fields.
